Don Cox has been writing about motorcycle racing for three and a half decades. He saw his first road race in 1970 and was inspired to write about racing after spectating at two major events in 1976 – Australian TT at Laverton and the Australian Grand Prix at Bathurst. He began writing for specialist motorcycle publications the following year, predominately REVS Motorcycle News and Two Wheels, to which he still contributes.

Circus Life is his third book, having co-authored Australian Motorcycle Heroes 1949-1989 with Will Hagon and written The Aussies And 2NZ Blokes in 1997.
